INTERMEZZO

INTERMEZZO, die Formation um Gründer Robert Christa, verfolgt seit jeher das Ziel, sowohl eigene Kompositionen als auch ausgewählte Coverstücke aus den Bereichen Funk, Latin und Smooth Jazz auf die Bühne zu bringen. Die Originalsongs – allesamt aus der Feder von Robert Christa – entstanden in Zusammenarbeit mit renommierten Profimusikern aus aller Welt. Mittlerweile hat Christa auf mehreren über Amazon & Co. erhältlichen Smooth-Jazz-Alben dutzende Titel veröffentlicht; auch ein eigenes Songbook ist inzwischen verfügbar.

Die 1985 gegründete Band trat im Laufe der Jahre in verschiedenen Besetzungen auf – als Trio, Quartett und derzeit sogar als international besetztes Septett. 1992 wurde INTERMEZZO mit dem Jazzpreis der Stadt Oberkochen ausgezeichnet. Erfolgreiche Auftritte im „Nightclub“ des Bayerischen Hofs in München oder im „Ulmer Zelt“ unterstreichen den hohen künstlerischen Anspruch der Formation.

Christas Musik wurde weltweit über Internetradios wie SmoothJazz.com sowie über englische Radiosender ausgestrahlt und erreichte dort Platz 14 der Top 100 – neben Größen wie Larry Carlton, Bob James oder Chris Standring. Auch Musikkritiker äußerten sich in ihren Rezensionen der CDs durchweg begeistert.

INTERMEZZO, the ensemble founded by Robert Christa, has always pursued the goal of bringing both original compositions and selected cover pieces from the realms of funk, Latin, and smooth jazz to the stage. The original songs—all written by Robert Christa—were created in collaboration with renowned professional musicians from around the world. Over the years, Christa has released dozens of tracks on several smooth-jazz albums available via Amazon and other platforms; a dedicated songbook is also now available.

Founded in 1985, the band has performed in various lineups over the years—as a trio, a quartet, and currently even as an internationally staffed septet. In 1992, INTERMEZZO was awarded the Jazz Prize of the city of Oberkochen. Successful performances at the “Nightclub” of the Bayerischer Hof in Munich and at the “Ulmer Zelt” underscore the ensemble’s high artistic standards.

Christa’s music has been broadcast worldwide on internet radio stations such as SmoothJazz.com as well as on English radio stations, reaching No. 14 in the Top 100—alongside major artists like Larry Carlton, Bob James, and Chris Standring. Music critics have also expressed consistent enthusiasm in their reviews of the CDs.
